Education has been given in Türi for over 300 years.

There are 500 students and 57 teachers in our school. All the teachers have a pedagogical education. There are different specialists teaching students with special needs. The psychologist and social pedagogue advise the students.

Türi Basic School has joined programs “Health Promoting School” and “Entrepreneurial School” and it’s a HITSA training centre.

Good Beginning methodology principles are being used in the first stage of school. The attention is on discovery and active learning. The school has good relations with magazine “Hea Laps'' and “Täheke” editors. We participate in competitions organized by magazines. In addition to the national curriculum, they study informatics, robotics, entrepreneurship education, rhythmics, dance, creativity and more. Foreign language is important.

Different forms of studies have been created, taking into account the individual characteristics of the students (one-on-one study, small classes, simplified classes, individual curriculum to improve study results) All students with general, enhanced and special needs are supported in school. Students are supported by an SEN coordinator, social pedagogues, speech therapist, psychologist and other specialists. The school takes into account the different abilities of the students.

The development of talented students is supported through subject activities (level groups in math, Olympiads, competitions, contests, creative projects etc) and hobbies. In order to support the development of more capable students, we direct them to the University of Tartu Research School. The school has worked out an in-school project “Andekas koolis”. There is a TORE movement in Türi Basic School, which supports and helps create a more friendly atmosphere in the school. The students make mini-companies as part of the entrepreneurship, participate in different fairs. The school joined a VeniVidiVici program last school year, where a couple of student exchanges have taken place. The school participates in two Erasmus+ international projects and an eTwinning project. The school is well-engaged in hobby activity. There are many subject and hobby groups. The student council joins in on the day-to-day running of the school. There is a series of lectures “Kuulsus koolis”, different project days, inter-class quizzes, competitions, subject weeks and days. Their activities are captured in a blog.
